KIIT and KISS Lead the Way in Sports Excellence with Prestigious Recognition

Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) Deemed to be a University, in Bhubaneswar, has been dedicated to promoting sports and physical fitness among its students. At the 2025 Sportstar Aces Awards in Mumbai on February 14th, KIIT was recognized as the best university for sports promotion. Dr. Achyuta Samanta, founder of KIIT and KISS, accepted the award, marking the second time KIIT has won, having received it previously in 2022. The event was attended by sports personalities, including Viswanathan Anand.

KIIT and KISS have been dedicated to the overall development of sports and the nurturing of athletes. This dedication is evident from KIIT's impressive record, which includes producing 23 Olympians, 3 Paralympians, 11 Arjuna Awardees, and one Khel Ratna Awardee. Moreover, KIIT-DU's unwavering commitment to sports has led to numerous accolades, such as the “Best Sports Facility” award at the first CII Sports Business Awards 2023, the Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Puraskar 2022 from the Government of India, the FICCI India Sports Award 2022, the Sports Star Aces Award 2022 from the Hindu, and the Biju Patnaik Sports Award 2019 for ‘Best Contribution to the Promotion of Sports and Games’ from the Government of Odisha.

The world-class sporting infrastructure at KIIT & KISS, coupled with the expertise of international coaches, has cultivated over 200 athletes who have represented India in the Olympics, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, and other international events, securing medals for the nation. So far, more than 5000 athletes of regional, national, and international repute have been nurtured by KIIT and KISS, thanks to their advanced state-of-the-art sporting facilities. This unwavering dedication to sports and athlete development continues to elevate India on the global stage, fostering a legacy of excellence and pride.
