Global Education Expansion: King’s College Partners with HKU SPACE for Innovative Nursing Program
King’s College and HKU SPACE Launch Research-Based Nursing Education Program

QS World Ranking establishes a systematic comparison of the world's top universities and this ranking system eliminates students' doubts and uncertainties by providing a genuine database for choosing the right university. Hong Kong University is ranked 17 in the QS World Rankings 2025, making it a prime choice for students to pursue further education. King’s College London is also among the top 50 universities on the list with established recognition for research excellence and a notable alumni circle.
Representatives from HKU SPACE and King's attended the signing of a partnership agreement in May 2024 and this partnership will allow King’s to offer MSc Clinical Nursing degree to Hong Kong students. The course was launched in July for the September 2024 intake and will be delivered over two years part-time via remote learning. This joint venture will significantly enhance access to high-quality nursing education and support the development of a skilled nursing workforce in the region. The MSc Clinical Nursing degree focuses on research-based learning to help nurses become healthcare leaders. Students will learn to provide compassionate, evidence-based, and person-centered care and also guide others in doing the same. The program also covers digital strategies in healthcare and how to work with different cultures to ensure patient safety. Overall this course is designed to prepare nurses to be equipped with the latest knowledge and practices.
Mary Malone, the Vice Dean (Education) and Professor of Nursing at King’s College, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership with HKU SPACE. She highlighted that King’s College, known internationally for its nursing programs, is eager to deliver research-informed education to qualified nurses in Hong Kong. The collaboration aligns with the college’s mission to offer high-quality educational opportunities to residents of Hong Kong and additionally, she mentioned that there are plans for future joint programs in nursing, law, and psychology. Professor William Lee, Director of HKU SPACE, also spoke positively about the partnership, noting its alignment with HKU SPACE’s objectives. He looked forward to the expanded collaboration, which would include bachelor's degree programs in various fields, further strengthening the educational offerings available to students in Hong Kong.
