During the ceremony, Her Excellency Dr Dewi Savitri Wahab, a distinguished alumna, was awarded a Doctor of Laws (honoris causa) in recognition of her notable contributions to Indonesia’s development and the strengthening of Australia–Indonesia relations. The honorary degree was conferred by Deputy Chancellor Geraldine Johns-Putra and presented by Professor Sharon Pickering. Monash University, Indonesia, also reiterated its commitment to innovation-led education, noting the increasing global demand for skills in data science, cybersecurity, and business innovation—areas expanding 66 per cent faster than other sectors, according to PwC’s 2025 Global AI Jobs Barometer. Diella Zuhdiyani, a Master of Business Innovation graduate, reportedly shared that her 1.5 years of study enhanced her resilience, curiosity, and professional growth. Established in October 2021, Monash University, Indonesia, is widely viewed as a collaborative initiative between Monash University and the Indonesian government aimed at advancing knowledge to support Indonesia’s socio-economic and technological development. It currently offers a broad range of Master’s programmes in fields such as Business Innovation, Global Business, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Public Health, and more, in addition to PhD and executive education options.
