Dignitaries Share Valuable Insights at KIIT’s 63rd National Pharmacy Week Celebration
KIIT Hosts Successful National Pharmacy Week, Focusing on Pharmacy’s Impact on Health

The KIIT School of Pharmacy, under KIMS, celebrated the 63rd National Pharmacy Week (NPW) on November 23, 2024. The event, held from November 17 to 23, was themed "THINK HEALTH, THINK PHARMACY," as declared by the Indian Pharmaceutical Association. Nearly 200 participants, including students, faculty, and professionals, engaged in competitions such as essay writing, quizzes, and elocution. These activities highlighted the significance of the theme and emphasized the essential role of pharmacists in healthcare.
The event was graced by distinguished dignitaries, including Subodh Kumar Nayak, Ex-Director of Drugs Control Administration, Odisha, as the chief guest; Dr. Nilamadhab Dash, Ex-Director of Drugs Control Administration, Odisha, as the chief speaker; Prof. Prafulla Kumar Mahapatra, Director of the School of Allied Medical Sciences, KIIT, as the guest of honour; and Prof. (Dr.) Una Lakshmi Narayan, Principal of KIIT School of Pharmacy, and Prof. (Dr.) Arun Panda, Professor of Pharmacology at KIIT School of Pharmacy, as speakers.
Prof. Mahapatra emphasized the pharmacy profession's importance and its contributions to healthcare. Chief Guest Sri Nayak expressed gratitude to pharmacists for their dedication and encouraged greater outreach to highlight their role in healthcare delivery. Dr. Dash discussed the transformative impact of pharmacists on patient health and the pharmaceutical sector's potential, stressing the profession’s contributions during challenging times and its promising future.Prof. (Dr.) Narayan and Prof. (Dr.) Panda inspired students with their insights into the profession’s importance and the vital role of pharmacists in society.The event concluded with the distribution of prizes to competition winners. Dr. Biswaranjan Behera, Professor of Pharmacognosy, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to participants and organizers for the event’s success.
This event highlighted the contribution pharmacists make in the society, and also provided a platform for students and professionals to share their thoughts in meaningful discussions.The program prompted healthy life-style and well-being, with a lasting impact on all the participants.
