Purdue University has been consistently recognised as a leading public research institution, delivering academic excellence on a significant scale. Ranked among the top 10 public universities in the United States, with two of its colleges featured in the national top four, it demonstrates robust academic programmes and institutional impact. Moreover, the university's expansive reach is evident in its enrollment figures, with over 105,000 students studying across multiple platforms and locations. Nearly 50,000 of these students are based at the West Lafayette campus. Coupled with this scale is a commitment to affordability: Purdue has maintained a tuition freeze on its main campus for 14 consecutive years, reflecting its dedication to accessibility and financial responsibility.

According to Chief Marketing Officer Kelly Hiller, this global recognition affirms Purdue’s enduring influence and fulfils its land-grant mission through over 150 years of transformative education and research.
This rise in visibility was further supported by quantifiable metrics: a 9% increase in visibility score to 21.8 million, 12.9 million website visitors, 10,600 news mentions, 344,000 monthly Google searches, and a 7% increase in social media followers to 1.2 million. Vice President for Communications Julie Rosa observed that this momentum enhances the university’s ability to attract top-tier students and faculty, increase funding opportunities, and foster strategic partnerships.
The GUV ranking system itself applies a pioneering methodology to assess global university brand strength, focusing on storytelling effectiveness. Visibility is measured using four core weighted indicators: website traffic, news presence, public search interest, and social media engagement, alongside web references and video content. The evaluation period spanned from July 2024 to June 2025, with data derived from early 2025 and January 2024 to January 2025. Purdue University’s global prominence reflects an enduring legacy of excellence, strategic innovation, and impactful communication on the world stage.
