Global Learning Redefined: New Dual Masters Degree Bridging India and the UK

Dual degree programmes provide students with a unique opportunity to gain diverse international perspectives and credentials, thereby enhancing their educational experience and career prospects. In a significant move towards global academic collaboration, Shoolini University and Royal Holloway, University of London, have announced the launch of a joint Dual Masters Degree Programme commencing in the 2025-26 academic session. This initiative marks a significant step in fostering global academic partnerships between the two institutions.

According to the new arrangement, postgraduate students enrolled at Shoolini University will spend their first year of study in India, followed by a second year at Royal Holloway in the United Kingdom. Upon successful completion of the two-year programme, students will receive a degree from Royal Holloway, University of London, along with a certificate from Shoolini University. Initially, the dual degree programme will offer courses in Biotechnology, Biosciences, and Psychology, with plans to expand to other academic fields in the future. Applicants will be required to meet specific entry and English language proficiency criteria set by Royal Holloway.

Professor Atul Khosla, Vice Chancellor of Shoolini University, highlighted that the partnership represents a significant milestone in creating a global learning environment. He emphasized that the collaboration aims to offer students world-class education and research opportunities while supporting meritorious students from underprivileged backgrounds by providing scholarships and ensuring they gain valuable international exposure.

Professor Julie Sanders, Vice-Chancellor and Principal of Royal Holloway expressed her excitement about the initiative, which builds upon the strong relationship between the two universities. She stated that the partnership is driven by the goal of creating excellent research-based learning opportunities and a commitment to global thinking and working. To assist international students, Royal Holloway provides various services to ensure a smooth transition to life in the UK, including early move-in options, free airport pick-up, and specialized orientation programmes like the 'New to the UK' activities. Throughout the year, students can also participate in cultural events under the ‘Home Away from Home’ initiative to celebrate and share diverse traditions. This dual degree programme promises to create exceptional academic and research opportunities, fostering a truly global learning environment for students.
