SOA Hosts RISE Conclave as Springer Nature Launches New Initiative to Foster Ethical Research Practices
Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Praises Springer Nature's RISE Initiative for Advancing Research Integrity at SOA

During the RISE Conclave at Siksha 'O' Anusandhan Deemed to be University (SOA) on 27 August, Springer Nature, a global publisher recognized for offering platforms, services, and content to the research community, introduced its Research Integrity in Science and Education (RISE) program.
Pravati Parida, the deputy chief minister of Odisha, emphasized that the initiative's goal is to develop a climate that is conducive to higher education research. She highlighted that the conclave was not merely an academic event but it was a forum for discussion, cooperation, and innovation while upholding a dedication to ethical excellence in research. Springer Nature arranged the conference in collaboration with the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), the Ministry of Education, and education experts throughout the country.
During the inaugural session, several distinguished figures addressed the gathering, including Prof. T.G. Sitharam, Chairman of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Mr. Steven Inchcoombe, President of Research at Springer Nature Group, Prof. Sudhir Kumar V. Barai, Director of BITS Pilani, Prof. Dhananjay Singh, Member Secretary of the ICSSR, Prof. Pradipta Kumar Nanda, Vice-Chancellor of SOA, Mr. Venkatesh Sarvasiddhi, Managing Director of Springer Nature India, Prof. Prasanta Kumar Panigrahi, Director of SOA’s Center for Quantum Science and Technology, and Prof. Manas Kumar Mallick, Director of the Institute of Technical Education and Research (ITER).
Shrimati Parida, who holds the portfolios of Women and Child Development, Mission Shakti, and Tourism, extended her congratulations to SOA for its collaboration with Springer Nature in organizing the event and mentioned SOA as one of the highest-ranked universities in eastern India, acknowledging its leading role in professional education and healthcare within the state. She reported that her daughter, who attended SOA to study engineering, was accepted to the esteemed Stony Brook University in New York, she praised Prof. (Dr.) Manojranjan Nayak, the founder and president of SOA, for his innovative contributions to research and higher education.
India Research Tour 2024, which will start in New Delhi and go through 10 states and sixteen cities, with activities taking place at 28 prestigious institutions in September and October, and Springer Nature's landing page was launched by DCM. The occasion also witnessed the signing of an agreement for the Fully Open Access Journals and an agreement between Springer Nature and SOA for the Cureus Journal of Medical Sciences.
