From Aerodynamics to AI: SRIJAN’25 Showcases the Future of Learning & Innovation

SRIJAN’25, the 18th annual techno-management fest organised by F.E.T.S.U. at Jadavpur University, proved to be a landmark celebration of interdisciplinary innovation. Held from April 17 to 20, 2025, across both the Jadavpur and Salt Lake campuses, the event was designed to dispel the notion that technology and innovation belong solely to the realms of science and engineering. Instead, it evolved into a vibrant four-day extravaganza that united students from diverse disciplines under the banners of creativity, curiosity, and collaboration.

Before its official launch, the fest set the stage with three successful workshops on Robotics, Finance, and Generative AI, drawing over 400 participants. The celebrations officially began on April 17, deemed Day 0, with the F5 Talks at the Dr. H.L. Roy Building on the Jadavpur campus. Esteemed speakers enriched the opening session: Rajit Bhattacharya, Founder and CEO of Data Sutram and a Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree, recounted his entrepreneurial journey, while Dr. Debiprasad Duari, former director of the M.P. Birla Institute of Fundamental Research, offered fascinating insights into astronomy.

Moreover, Mr. Sabyasachi Biswas, CEO of VIKI.AI, presented forward-looking views on artificial intelligence, and renowned mathematics educator Dr. Gajendra Purohit highlighted the transformative power of inspiration and teaching. Together, these talks reinforced SRIJAN’s core values of learning, innovation, and exploration. Building on this promising start, SRIJAN’25 transitioned into its main phase with 48 competitions showcasing advanced tech skills, held over three dynamic days at the Salt Lake Campus. The festivities kicked off on April 18 with preliminary rounds that set a high-energy tone.

Organisers noted that Day 1 exceeded expectations with spirited events such as Jal-astra, which showcased aerodynamic skills, and the fast-paced Red Bull Racing League. The day concluded on a vibrant note with cultural performances, including a Rap Battle and Beatboxing, which added an electrifying dimension to the experience. On April 19, Day 2 maintained the momentum with both preliminary and final rounds in various events, notably management competitions like Ace the Case, Investomania, and Capital Clash. A highlight of the day was the Career Fair in partnership with Aliff Overseas, which attracted over 150 attendees. The day closed with an energising musical performance by the indie band Fiddlecraft, seamlessly blending cultural vibrancy with technological prowess.

The grand finale on April 20 marked the culmination of SRIJAN’25. Concluding rounds of competitions, led by Cypher 3331 with a record-breaking participation of over 700 students, set the stage for a memorable closure. A formal stage ceremony awarded winners with medals and certificates, while the Classic Car Exhibition delighted enthusiasts with vintage automotive displays. The fest ended on a high note with a comic performance by Ravi Gupta, following an engaging warm-up by Saurabh Pandey, leaving the audience in high spirits.

Event organisers later reflected that F.E.T.S.U. Presents SRIJAN’25 was not only a landmark edition that embodied technology, culture, art, and unity but also an inspiring demonstration of collaborative creativity.SRIJAN’25 showcased the transformative power of interdisciplinary collaboration and inspired all participants to “Dream, See and Innovate.”
