Carlisle Pupils Excel in Maths Challenge, Securing Prestigious Victory

Newlaithes Junior School in Carlisle has achieved a remarkable victory in the Times Tables Rock Stars competition, held on 23 May. The eminent interschool event, designed to test pupils on their multiplication speed and accuracy, featured participation from nine schools, 64 classes, and over 1,400 pupils. Demonstrating exceptional mathematical skills and teamwork, Newlaithes emerged as the overall winner, marking a significant achievement for both students and staff.

Following the triumph, Mr. Sanchez, the school’s maths coordinator, praised the students for their dedication and collaborative spirit. He emphasised that their success was a direct result of perseverance, mutual support, and the commitment they displayed throughout the competition.
