Techno Sahotsava 2025: Where Music, Art, and Drama Came Alive

Techno Sahotsava 2025, the flagship cultural festival of Techno India University (TIU), was a grand celebration of talent and creativity, held from February 28 to March 6. With participation from over 35 colleges, the festival combined music, dance, drama, and artistic expression in a vibrant and spirited atmosphere. Frequently compared to TIU’s version of Durga Pujo, the event was an ode to passion and talent.

The festival began with an inaugural ceremony on February 28, featuring the renowned Bengali actress Srabanti Chatterjee and acclaimed director Subhrajit Mitra. The duo graced the event to promote their upcoming film, Devi Chowdhurani, adding cinematic glamour to the opening day. The evening set the tone with captivating solo singing performances, electrifying dance acts, and an intense Battle of Bands. In addition, classroom events like poetry recitation, stand-up comedy, and short film screenings provided a rich and diverse experience for attendees.

As the festival progressed, the audience was treated to exciting performances and innovative activities. Highlights included beatboxing battles, rap showdowns, and the eagerly awaited Fashion Walk. A live musical performance by Techno India Group Director and CEO, Professor Dr. Sujoy Biswas, showcased his artistic prowess, captivating the crowd. Unconventional events like the Paw Parade—a delightful puppy ramp walk—and a surprise Flash Mob brought novelty and excitement to the celebrations. Meanwhile, Jugalbandi face-offs, Bollywood recreations, and Eastern dance duets kept the energy levels high.

On March 3 and 4, creativity took centre stage through competitions in graphic designing, tote bag painting, digital art, improv battles, and a challenging 13-hour filmmaking contest. These activities highlighted the ingenuity and talent of the participants, adding a competitive edge to the festival. The festivities culminated in a spectacular Grand Finale on March 6 at Kala Mandir, following a Gap Day on March 5. The evening opened with an instrumental performance by Swarakriti, followed by a captivating mime act and a one-act play by Dhrubotara. The program also featured Phoenix’s fashion showcase, electrifying performances by Desi Groovers and Beat Busters, and Swara Nritya, an innovative fusion of music and dance. The university’s photography and videography team, Chitraka, was applauded for their invaluable contributions to capturing the festival’s essence.

The highlight of the evening was a mesmerizing concert by Bollywood singer Akriti Kakkar, who turned the venue into a massive dance floor as the audience joined in with her popular hits. Powered by Team Sanskaran and supported by key sponsors, Techno Sahotsava 2025 was more than an event—it was an emotional and unforgettable experience that will resonate with participants for years to come. Techno Sahotsava 2025 celebrated the spirit of creativity and collaboration, leaving behind a lasting legacy of joy and inspiration.
