UIN Jakarta Receives Gender-Responsive University Award, Celebrating Commitment to Gender Equality

UIN Jakarta received the esteemed Gender-Responsive University Award (PTRG) for 2024 at the Madya level. The award was presented by Prof. Dr. Ahmad Zainul Hamdi, M.A., Director of Islamic Religious Higher Education (Diktis), during the 3rd National Conference of Gender and Child Study Centers, held in Mataram, Lombok, from October 15 to 18, 2024. 

This recognition underscores UIN Jakarta’s achievements in integrating gender perspectives across its core functions: education, research, and community service. Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., the Rector of UIN Jakarta, expressed pride and gratitude for this acknowledgment, noting that the award reflects the hard work and dedication of the entire academic community in promoting gender equality. The importance of maintaining and expanding the university’s gender-responsive initiatives was emphasized, suggesting that this achievement should serve as a foundation for strengthening gender mainstreaming efforts and inspiring further successes in the future.

Dr. Hj. Wiwi Siti Syajaroh, M.A., Head of the Gender and Child Study Center (PSGA), accepted the award on behalf of UIN Jakarta and expressed pride in the university's accomplishment. This was the university's first attempt at the PTRG Award, and it secured the Madya rank. This achievement will motivate everyone to continue advancing gender mainstreaming within the university. The award reflects PSGA’s work and results from teamwork across all departments. Prof. Amelia Fauzia, M.A., Ph.D., Head of the Institute for Research and Community Service (LP2M), congratulated the entire UIN Jakarta community for their dedication. The award is anticipated to inspire the university’s faculty and students to advance gender-responsive policies and practices to further contribute to a more inclusive academic environment.
