USD Expands Global Reach with Fully Online Degrees in AI, Data Science, and Cyber Security

The University of San Diego (USD) has taken a notable step towards expanding global access to advanced education by launching a suite of fully online master’s degree programmes specifically designed for working professionals in India. Previously available only to U.S.-based students, these programmes are now being offered internationally, reflecting USD’s commitment to inclusive, flexible, and career-aligned learning.

The newly introduced degrees include the MS in Applied Artificial Intelligence, MS in Applied Data Science, MS in Cyber Security Engineering, and MS in Cyber Security Operations and Leadership. Delivered in a 100% online, asynchronous format, each programme spans 20 months, allowing students to study at their own pace while managing professional and personal responsibilities. The curriculum, developed by academic and industry experts, is reviewed annually to ensure alignment with evolving technological trends and market demands.

To support Indian applicants, USD has partnered with GradRight as its official outreach and access partner, guiding the admissions process and ongoing student support. The course structure enables learners to progress independently while meeting weekly milestones, and USD has confirmed that these are full-stack master’s degrees, equivalent in academic value to their on-campus counterparts. All programmes are delivered in English, and applicants must demonstrate language proficiency through IELTS (minimum score 7), Duolingo (minimum score 120), or proof of two years of prior education in English. Additionally, students have the option to participate in a two-week on-campus immersion in the U.S., offering valuable opportunities for networking and face-to-face engagement with faculty and peers.

Applications for the Fall 2025 intake are currently open, with a deadline of 1 August 2025. Classes will commence on 2 September 2025. Eligible candidates must hold either a four-year undergraduate degree with at least a second division or a three-year degree with first division.
