Innovative Design and Industry Insight Take Centre Stage at WUD

The World University of Design (WUD), a leading creative institution in Sonipat, offers an interdisciplinary curriculum across diverse fields such as design, architecture, fashion, visual arts, communication, interior design, animation, and performing arts. At its recently concluded fifth edition of the annual 'Made in WUD' (MIW) Design Week, the university showcased the innovative work of over 230 graduating students, demonstrating its strong commitment to nurturing versatile creative talent while upholding an interdisciplinary ethos.
Now in its fifth year, MIW has become a pivotal platform bridging academia and industry. Throughout the academic year, students engaged with global brands on live briefs, producing practical solutions in areas such as user experience (UX), mobility, product design, service systems, branding, and fashion, thereby illustrating the real-world applicability of their studies. During the event, the campus was transformed into a public exhibition space, featuring Open House displays that invited visitors to explore student portfolios in detail. A key highlight was the fashion show by final-year students from the School of Fashion, which received acclaim for its innovative design concepts and relevance to current industry trends.
The showcase attracted numerous industry professionals, recruiters, and design leaders. Chief Guest Mr Pranav Mahajan, Director at MASPAR/Mahajan Overseas, commended the university’s strong alignment with industry, emphasising that the event reflected WUD’s effectiveness in preparing students for meaningful roles within the evolving design sector. Meanwhile, Vice Chancellor Dr Sanjay Gupta reiterated the university’s commitment not only to technical proficiency but also to fostering contextual understanding and social responsibility. He reportedly described MIW as a celebration of student creativity and resilience, highlighting WUD’s mission to cultivate graduates who combine skill, empathy, sustainability, and innovation, qualities essential to the future of design.
The event concluded with an awards ceremony recognising exceptional student achievements, further reinforcing MIW 2025 as a testament to WUD’s role in shaping forward-thinking, socially conscious design professionals equipped to meet the demands of a rapidly changing world.MIW 2025 exemplifies WUD’s dedication to preparing graduates who will contribute innovatively and responsibly to the global design landscape.
