HNLU, Texas A&M Set to Enhance Academic and Research Excellence through MoU

Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU) in Nava Raipur, Chhattisgarh, is led by Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) VC Vivekanandan, President of the Consortium of National Law Universities. Established in 2003, HNLU is the sixth national law university in India and is named after the eminent jurist, former Vice President, and former Chief Justice of India, Justice Mohammad Hidayatullah.
In 2022, HNLU launched the Hidayatullah Exchange Academy (HEXA) and plans to welcome international scholars through H-VISA in 2025. Texas A&M University, the first public higher education institution in Texas, has campuses in Galveston and Doha, offering over 140 undergraduate, 170 master's, 94 doctoral, and 5 professional degree programs. The School of Law is led by Dean Prof. Robert 'Bobby' Ahdieh.
Recently, both universities signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a comprehensive academic partnership. The MoU aims to promote student and faculty exchanges, collaborative teaching, joint research, and the development of innovative academic programs. The agreement was signed by Prof. (Dr.) VC Vivekanandan, Vice-Chancellor of HNLU, and Dr. Holly Hudson, Associate Vice President for Global Engagement at Texas A&M University. Prof. Vivekanandan described the collaboration as a significant milestone for HNLU, aligning with its mission to offer global exposure through initiatives like HEXA and H-VISA. He expressed excitement about the potential for productive exchanges and joint ventures in teaching and research.
Prof. Srividya Raghavan, Director of International Programs at HNLU, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, noting its potential for meaningful exchanges, collaborative teaching, and research. She also looked forward to welcoming HNLU students to Texas A&M and vice versa. The collaboration will foster interaction between faculty members from both institutions, facilitating joint teaching and research initiatives to enhance academic excellence. The MoU also encourages student enrollment at both universities, offering unique opportunities for cultural and educational exchange. Additionally, the partnership plans to establish a more detailed Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) to expand and deepen the collaboration in the future.HNLU is also in advanced negotiations with other universities to finalize similar agreements, with announcements expected in early 2025.
