India and Singapore Sign MoUs to Boost Education, Research, and Innovation

Dharmendra Pradhan Discusses Indian Education Reforms with Singapore President

On 17 January, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi welcomed Singapore President Tharman Shanmugaratnam at Bhubaneswar Airport. In a bilateral meeting, Pradhan discussed positive changes in the Indian education system and the National Education Policy and signed an MoU between Odisha and Singapore in various sectors. The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation in education, research, and innovation.

Pradhan mentioned that the MoUs signed between Singapore and Odisha mark a new chapter in international cooperation. These agreements, he added, will enhance Odisha's human capital through the state's skill development ecosystem, foster 21st-century skills, strengthen the industrial sector, and advance research and innovation.

He remarked that the agreement will enhance Odisha's skill ecosystem and accelerate its industrial and socio-economic growth. He expressed gratitude to the President of Singapore for his commitment to strengthening the India-Singapore Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Pradhan noted that President Tharman's visit will deepen the relationship between Odisha and Singapore, adding new dimensions to their partnership. Overall, these agreements are set to bolster Odisha's skill development, industrial growth, and socio-economic progress, while fostering stronger ties in education, research, and innovation. The collaboration promises a brighter future for both regions, driven by shared goals and mutual respect.
