Gurugram University Appoints Veteran Academic as New Vice Chancellor

Distinguished professor and vice-chancellor of JC Bose University of Science and Technology, Professor Sushil Kumar Tomar, has been appointed as the new vice-chancellor of Gurugram University. He took over the position on January 27, becoming the fourth vice chancellor of the relatively new university, succeeding Professor Dinesh Kumar. This new appointment was confirmed by a government notification issued by Haryana Raj Bhavan, Chandigarh.

Professor Tomar, known for his extensive experience in academic and administrative roles, expressed his commitment to proving worthy of the trust placed in him by the state government. With over 35 years of experience, Tomar, a renowned mathematician, serves as a professor of mathematics at Punjab University. He has held several important positions at the university, including dean of instruction, dean of student welfare, and dean of research. His scholarly contributions include over 130 publications in prestigious international research journals, and he has delivered more than 150 lectures both in India and abroad on various topics. Additionally, he has been recognized as a Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences, India.
