The University of Pennsylvania, or Penn, is renowned for its Ivy League status, distinguished academic excellence, rich history, and selective admissions process. Beyond its academic prowess, the university has also made a significant impact in the world of squash, establishing itself as one of the top teams in the nation. Under the leadership of Head Coach Gilly Lane, a 2007 alumnus, the men’s squash team has reached impressive heights since he took over in 2016.

The team has achieved No. 1 rankings, undefeated regular seasons, Ivy League titles, and two appearances in the Potter Cup final. After all these achievements Jack Wyant and Gilly Lane, C’07,  are ready to showcase their magic again for the 2024-25 men’s and women’s Ivy League Match. Showing his excitement Lane mentioned that they have reinforced their team by adding 3 new members and they are motivated to compete against the best teams in the nation, despite facing some difficult games in the early part of the season, he is still confident in his ability to represent the university and aim for league glory proudly.

Wyant, the Penn women's team coach and director of squash, emphasized a few important details regarding the schedule. He mentioned that they will compete against top 10 teams like Stanford and UVA in the first semester as well as the League, Trinity, and Drexel in 2025. The Tournament of Champions PSA event and the Individual Championships will be staged together in New York City for the first time. A glass court in Vanderbilt Hall at Grand Central Terminal will host the semi-finals and finals. The season’s finale will be in Philly with the team championship at the Specter Center.

The University’s Squash Season Schedule 2024-25 will start with the Ivy League Scrimmages on November 2-3, after The Pennsylvania State Championships will open on November 15 at Franklin and Marshall, with Penn hosting the PA Championships on November 16-17, featuring Haverford, Dickinson, Drexel, and Chatham. The Quakers will then head to Washington, D.C., on November 22 for a women’s match against Georgetown at Squash on Fire, followed by a match against Virginia for both teams on November 23.

In December, the men’s team will play three matches in New York: against St. Lawrence and Rochester on December 7, and Western on December 8. Both teams will start the New Year in University City with a match against Trinity on January 11 and the Ivy League opener against the Bulldogs on January 12. The  University will also host Columbia on January 17 and Cornell on January 11 before traveling to New York for the College Squash Association (CSA) Individual Championships from January 25-28.

February will kick off with matches at Harvard on February 1 and Dartmouth on February 2.
