University of Waikato Signs MoUs with Leading Indian Institutions to Boost Cross-Cultural Learning

The University of Waikato has taken a significant step in advancing global academic collaboration by signing Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with Bennett University in Uttar Pradesh and Symbiosis International (Deemed University) in Pune. These agreements underscore the university's dedication to fostering international partnerships and academic excellence. Professor Neil Quigley, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Waikato, emphasised that the MoUs reflect the university's commitment to world-class education while creating opportunities for students and staff. Highlighting the shared vision of academic excellence and global connectivity, he expressed enthusiasm for the future of these partnerships.

India's vibrant and diverse education system adds to the collaboration's significance. Symbiosis International (Deemed University), celebrated for its multidisciplinary approach and international student community from 85 countries, will engage in initiatives such as joint degree programs, academic exchanges, and collaborative research with the University of Waikato. Moreover, Dr. Vidya Yeravdekar, Pro-Chancellor of Symbiosis, reaffirmed the university's dedication to fostering innovation, excellence, and societal impact through this partnership.

Similarly, Bennett University, known for industry-focused programs in fields such as engineering, law, and management, will expand international learning opportunities through pathway programs and immersive short courses. The Chancellor, Mr. Vineet Jain, highlighted the benefits of collaborating with a globally recognised institution like the University of Waikato, emphasising its impact on students' academic growth and career prospects.

New Zealand's Prime Minister, Rt Hon Christopher Luxon, welcomed the partnerships, underscoring their mutual advantages. He noted that the exchange of talent, ideas, and innovation between New Zealand and India would enrich academic outcomes and enhance career pathways for students. The University of Waikato, with its community from over 80 nations, continues to prioritise cross-cultural learning and international collaboration. These partnerships with Indian universities signify not only the beginning of an exciting new phase but also the promise of deepening global connections.
