Financial Aid Boost: Durham University Introduces £10,000 Scholarships for Masters Students

Durham University, a prestigious academic institution in the UK, has announced the launch of its Inspiring Excellence £10K Scholarship. Designed to support high-achieving international students, the university is offering 85 scholarships worth £10,000 each for the 2025/26 academic year. These scholarships aim to provide financial assistance by reducing tuition fees for students pursuing select postgraduate programs.

The scholarships are available for seven specific one-year Master’s programs, including MSc Biotechnology, MSc Advanced Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence), MSc Law and Finance, MSc Public Policy, MSc Advanced Computer Science, MSc International Business, and MSc Islamic Finance. To be eligible, applicants must first apply to one of these designated programs for September 2025. Moreover, they must meet or exceed the entry requirements for the chosen program and be classified as overseas students for fee purposes. Importantly, candidates must be self-funded, as external sponsorships or additional scholarships will disqualify them.

The application process involves submitting an academic application through the university's online portal, accompanied by all necessary supporting documents. Applicants need to secure an academic offer by May 4, 2025, for the first selection round or June 8, 2025, for the second round. To apply for the scholarship itself, candidates must complete the online scholarship application form by April 30, 2025, for the first round or June 8, 2025, for the second round. Those who do not succeed in the first round will automatically be considered for the second round without the need to reapply.

The university has clarified that students who suspend their scholarship commitments or academic studies will forfeit future scholarship discounts. However, in exceptional circumstances, such as medical issues, the Faculty Executive Dean may allow the continuation of the scholarship after a suspension period.
