The University of Strathclyde in Glasgow has announced several scholarships for international students applying to its Faculty of Engineering postgraduate taught and research courses for the academic year 2024-25. These scholarships are available to self-funded, international (non-EU) fee-paying applicants with strong academic qualifications.
The University of Strathclyde offers scholarships for a variety of engineering and design-related subjects within its Faculty of Engineering. Eligible programs include Architecture, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Design, Manufacture and Engineering Management, Electronic and Electrical Engineering, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Naval Architecture, Ocean and Marine Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Product Design, Prosthetics and Orthotics, and Renewable Energy Engineering. These courses are open to international students who meet the academic qualifications and scholarship criteria set by the university.
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must have received an offer for a full-time postgraduate degree course starting in January 2025, with the scholarship application considered only after the offer. The deadline for those applying for postgraduate taught courses in January 2025 is January 10. Postgraduate research applicants must begin their courses during the 2024-25 academic year. For postgraduate taught courses, the scholarship offers a 15% reduction in fees, typically amounting to £4,240. To qualify, applicants must hold a 2:1 (or equivalent) in their undergraduate degree. Postgraduate research applicants will receive a 15% fee reduction for each year of their study.
Applicants for postgraduate research degrees can apply for the scholarships throughout the year. Students enrolled in a two-year MSc course will receive a 15% scholarship for the first year only. The scholarship amount may vary for certain courses, including those in Architecture and Biomedical Engineering, due to differing tuition fees. The scholarships offered by the University of Strathclyde will provide significant financial relief to international students, reducing their tuition fees.
