The university is renowned for its cutting-edge research facilities and world-class faculty, attracting students and scholars from around the globe.
Recently, the University of Canterbury (UC) announced that it has renewed its MBA Leaders Scholarship for an additional four years, until 2030. The scholarship now provides scholars with access to international opportunities, allowing them to gain global perspectives on leadership and innovation. Launched in 2021, the Gough Family Foundation MBA Leaders Scholarship has supported outstanding individuals. Three scholarships are awarded to exceptional candidates enrolled in UC’s MBA programme at Te Kura Umanga, UC Business School each year. Recipients are chosen based on their leadership potential, character, commercial capability, and dedication to making a positive impact.
Scholars will have the opportunity to collaborate with institutions such as Stanford University in the United States and Aalto University in Finland. This includes the chance to participate in courses like Stanford’s renowned Design Thinking paper, which promotes international networks, knowledge exchange, and the development of leadership skills. The UC MBA Leaders Scholarship covers a significant portion of the course fees, provides an international experience grant for global learning opportunities, offers an experiential Outward Bound Courage in Leadership course, and includes one-on-one mentoring with a New Zealand business leader. The renewed Scholarship reaffirms the university's commitment to fostering global leaders and innovators.
