Student Feedback Places Exeter Among UK’s Top Universities for Employability Support

In today’s competitive graduate landscape, effective career support plays a vital role in shaping student success and long-term employability. The University of Exeter has recently achieved a significant milestone in this domain, securing its highest-ever national ranking in the 2025 StudentCrowd Best University Careers Service list. Placing third across the UK, this recognition is based on feedback from more than 31,000 students and reflects the university’s growing reputation for delivering high-quality career services and employability support.

The university’s Career Zone and SEAS (Student Employability & Academic Success) teams were praised for the depth and quality of guidance offered to students across disciplines. A final-year international student noted that the Career Zone had helped build their confidence and prepared them effectively for the job market, demonstrating the personal impact of Exeter’s tailored approach to career development.

Exeter’s excellence was also recognised internationally at the 9th Global University Career Development Conference held in Xi’an, China, where the university received two major honours: the Exclusive Global Employer’s Choice Award and the Most Productive Career Service Team Award. These accolades, awarded by over 150,000 employers from more than 1,600 global partner universities, highlight Exeter’s strong commitment to supporting students in navigating global career pathways.

Organisers of the conference commended the University of Exeter’s career support model as a benchmark within higher education, citing its strategic focus on employability, inclusivity, and international engagement. Paul Blackmore, Divisional Head of Student Employability and Academic Success, expressed pride in the recognition and credited the achievement to the dedication and innovation of the Career Zone and SEAS teams. He emphasised the importance of student feedback and engagement, noting that the awards reflect the trust students place in the university’s services and its effectiveness in linking them to valuable career opportunities both in the UK and abroad. The University of Exeter’s recent accolades reaffirm its leadership in student career development and its commitment to empowering graduates for success in a global workforce.
