Adani Group Donates Rs 100 Crore for Skill Development Initiative in Telangana

Public-Private Partnership Model Set to Transform Education Landscape in Telangana

The Young India Skills University (YISU) is a newly established educational institution, created under the Young India Skills University, Telangana (Public-Private Partnership) Act of 2024. The university's mission is to bridge the gap between industry requirements and academic programs by offering skill development initiatives specifically designed to meet the needs of the job market.

Gautam Adani, along with Karan Adani, recently, met with Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to contribute Rs 100 crore for the establishment of the Young India Skills University. Adani group is committed to supporting the Telangana government's initiatives focused on skills development and youth empowerment. The foundation stone for the university was laid on August 1, and it will be developed under a public-private partnership model, promising to provide world-class training for the region's youth.

The university will provide various degrees, diplomas, certificates, and customized courses to meet the needs of both industry and the community. It will feature 17 industry-focused schools and one center, with six schools prioritized for the first phase based on industry demand, set to start in the upcoming academic year. The state government will work with a group of industry partners to support the initiative and will cover ongoing expenses for the university during its first three years.

Anand Mahindra, the noted industrialist and Chairman of Mahindra Group companies, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Board of Governors for YISU. Srinivasa C. Raju, another prominent industrialist and educationalist, will serve as the Co-Chairman on the Board. The motive is to create a lasting legacy that would uplift future generations. Adani expressed his pride in contributing to the initiative as this collaboration was not just about shaping the future of youth, but also about unlocking the vast potential for a brighter and more prosperous India.

Notable companies such as Apollo, AIG, Lenskart, Flipkart, Amazon, All Cargo, Pro Connect, and O9 Solutions are collaborating to offer these courses.
