International Gender Tech Conference: A Platform for Innovation and Social Change

The School of Social and Behavioral Sciences at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham’s Amritapuri campus, in collaboration with the UNESCO Chair for Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment, will host the International Gender Tech Conference from January 16.
Dr. Amandeep Gill, UN Tech Envoy and Under-Secretary-General will inaugurate the conference. Over four days, the event will feature sessions with Dr Tim Curtis, Director of UNESCO South Asia; Dr Akhilesh Gupta, Advisor to the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India; and Uma Mahadevan, Additional Chief Secretary, Karnataka. Key sponsors include the IEEE Society on Social Implications of Technology (IEEE-SSIT) and the SSIT Kerala Chapter.
An international hackathon will also be held with over 250 participants and 45 selected teams. In addition, the conference will feature keynote speeches, workshops, and interactive sessions at the Amritapuri campus. The International Gender Tech Conference promises to be a significant event. It will bring together global experts and innovators to discuss the intersection of gender equality and technology. This conference will encourage new collaborations and drive impactful solutions for a more inclusive technological future.
