Delhi University has confirmed that 71,130 undergraduate admissions have been finalised for the academic year 2025–26, placing the institution just shy of its full capacity of 71,624 seats across 79 programmes in 69 colleges. This announcement follows the conclusion of the third round of seat allotments under the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS), which continues to serve as the university’s centralised mechanism for managing undergraduate admissions. During this round, candidates who had secured seats in earlier phases were allowed to reorder their college and course preferences through an upgrade window held on 2 and 3 August. According to official data, 34,069 applicants opted for an upgrade, while 35,889 chose to freeze their previous choices. Of those seeking an upgrade, 5,930 candidates received new allotments aligned with their higher preferences.
University officials have advised students to prioritise programme suitability over institutional reputation when making final decisions. Candidates allotted seats in this round must accept their offers and complete fee payment by 7 August, failing which their admissions will be cancelled. Document verification and fee processing are being conducted by individual colleges. The university will release the list of vacant seats on 8 August, marking the start of the Mid-Entry window, which will run from 5 PM on 8 August to 4:59 PM on 10 August. This provision is intended for candidates who either missed the initial CSAS application, failed to complete Phase 2, or had their applications rejected due to issues such as subject mismatches or invalid documentation. Eligible applicants may re-enter the process by paying a non-refundable fee of ₹1,000 and will be allowed to update preferences or correct errors during this period.
The next round of seat allotments is scheduled for 13 August and will include performance-based courses such as Music, BFA, and Physical Education, as well as quota categories including CW (Children of War Widows), ECA, Sports, and Ward. The first allocation list for these quotas will be published on 15 August. Delhi University has confirmed that 19 August is the final deadline for all undergraduate admissions, beyond which no new applications will be accepted. Meanwhile, the academic session for 2025–26 commenced on 1 August, in line with the University Grants Commission’s calendar. Delhi University’s admissions cycle reflects high demand, procedural flexibility, and a firm commitment to timely enrolment.

A significant number of students, 5,930, secured upgraded seats based on their higher choices. The university has reiterated that students must accept their allotted seats and complete the fee payment by 7 August, failing which their admissions will be cancelled. Colleges are currently overseeing document verification and payment processing. Looking ahead, students who missed earlier rounds or had applications rejected due to errors will have another chance through the Mid-Entry window, open from 8 to 10 August. Applicants should ensure accurate documentation and timely preference updates during this phase. The next round of seat allotments will include performance-based and quota-based categories, with final admissions closing on 19 August.
