Medical Counselling Committee Publishes Round 1 Allotment List for MBBS and BDS Admissions

NEET UG 2025: MCC Announces Seat Allotment Under All India Quota

In a major development for over 22 lakh medical aspirants across India, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released the final result for Round 1 of NEET UG counselling 2025. MCC, operating under the Directorate General of Health Services, administers NEET UG counselling for MBBS, BDS, and BSc Nursing seats under the All India Quota (AIQ), as well as seats at central and deemed universities, the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS), and national institutions, including AIIMS and JIPMER.

NEET UG, conducted once annually by the National Testing Agency (NTA), is the sole entrance examination for undergraduate medical and dental programmes in India. It ensures a uniform, merit-based, and transparent admission process, and is also mandatory for students pursuing MBBS abroad. In 2025, NEET UG scores are accepted by over 1,257 colleges nationwide, including more than 700 MBBS colleges and 313 BDS colleges. The examination covers approximately 55,688 MBBS seats and 27,686 BDS seats, making it the most competitive gateway to medical education in the country.

The announcement follows the successful conduct of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG 2025) on 4 May, which remains the central gateway to undergraduate medical and dental programmes, including MBBS and BDS, under both All India Quota (AIQ) and state-level counselling. Candidates who registered during the NEET UG online registration window and participated in Round 1 of medical admission counselling can now check their MCC seat allotment status on the MCC official website: mcc.nic.in. The NEET UG round 1 result includes detailed information on allotted colleges, course preferences, and rank-based allocation under the 15% AIQ.

The NEET UG provisional allotment result was released on 12 August, allowing candidates to raise grievances until 11 am on 13 August via email at mccresultquery@gmail.com. MCC clarified that the provisional result was indicative and subject to change, and that no legal claim could be made based on it. Following the grievance window, the MCC NEET result was finalised and published on 13 August. Candidates whose names appear in the final NEET 2025 seat allocation list must report to their allotted medical colleges between 14 and 18 August, carrying all required documents in original and photocopy.

Editor’s Note:

The NEET UG examination continues to be the cornerstone of undergraduate medical admissions in India, offering a unified, merit-based pathway to MBBS, BDS, and allied health programmes across more than 1,250 institutions. Its significance lies in streamlining access to premier colleges such as AIIMS, JIPMER, and AFMS, and in ensuring transparency and equity in the medical college admission process nationwide. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will conduct four rounds of NEET UG counselling: Round 1, Round 2, Mop-Up Round, and Stray Vacancy Round. Each round offers opportunities for seat upgrades, reallocation, and fresh registration, depending on eligibility and prior participation. Students are advised to monitor the MCC official website closely, adhere to reporting deadlines, and maintain readiness for document verification and fee submission. With over 22 lakh candidates appearing in 2025, NEET UG remains one of the most competitive entrance exams globally. Students must approach preparation with strategic discipline, beginning with a strong command of NCERT fundamentals, followed by regular revision, mock tests, and targeted practice in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Time management, conceptual clarity, and exam temperament are equally critical.

Skoobuzz advises that as the admission cycle progresses, aspirants should remain informed, proactive, and focused, not only to secure a seat but to begin their journey in India’s healthcare system with clarity and purpose.
