Celebrating BCI approval: Patna Law College ready to welcome Future Legal Pioneers for 2024-25

Historic Milestone: Patna Law College Earns BCI Green Light for 2024-25 Admissions!

Patna Law College was established in 1909 and has a rich history of turning out some of the best legal brains in the nation. The college, associated with Patna University, serves a diverse student base across India by providing undergraduate and graduate legal studies. It has developed a reputation for academic brilliance over time, with a strong curriculum and faculty of renowned legal scholars and practitioners.

Patna Law College has rang the bell of admissions for the year 2024-25. With its 115-year-old golden history, this college can now offer the LLB programme as it got approval from the Bar Council of India. It makes it possible for pupils to register for the current school year. The admissions process will shortly begin.

"After consideration, extension of approval of affiliation has been granted to Patna Law College for imparting a three-year LLB course with intake of two sections of 60 students each for one academic year 2024–25," the BCI said in a statement to the college. According to the letter, the school would need to apply for an extension of affiliation approval to the BCI after a year.

After getting approval for admission from BCI, the college has requested that the LLB program's admissions process be expedited, according to reports from the college's principal, Vani Bhushan, to The Times of India.

BCI team of 5 members, consisting of Justice Mridula Mishra, Member S D Sharan, Senior Advocate Sadhu Sharan Yadav, Chairman of the Bihar State Bar Council Rama Kant Sharma, and Professor Padma Singh from the National Law Institute University, Bhopal, visited the law college on June 12. Last year, BCI found a lot of problems, but this time, the college has resolved all of them. Extending the term was decided upon at a June 16 meeting of the BCI's standing committee for legal education.

Maintaining the standards of legal education throughout the nation is mostly dependent on the Bar Council of India, which is the supreme regulatory authority for the legal profession and legal college education in India. Its accreditation attests to an institution's compliance with the strict requirements established for legal education, encompassing the qualifications of the professors, the quality of the academic environment, the curriculum, and the infrastructure.

For Patna Law College, getting the BCI nod confirms its dedication to offering a high-quality legal college education rather than merely a formality. With this clearance, college graduates are guaranteed the right to register as advocates with any state bar council in India, providing access to a wide range of legal career options.
