₹1,000 Crore Allocated to Promote Sports in Telangana's Young India Sports University

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy Invites Industrialists to Support Sports University Initiative

Indian youth must be encouraged to engage in more sports activities and receive proper training to represent India globally and bring back more medals. Taking an initiative in this direction, the Congress government after establishing the Skill University, Hyderabad, to equip the youth with the required skills and prepare them to be job-ready in emerging global markets, the government has taken another step to establish Young India Sports University, which will span in approximately 200 acres.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced in a meeting with the Telangana Young India Skill University Board and representatives from various industries that the sports university aims to train enthusiastic athletes to secure gold medals for India in the 2028 Olympics. He assured that the university had sufficient funds and encouraged industrialists to get involved in the university's development.

He stated that the government is prepared to allocate ₹1,000 crore from the ₹3 lakh crore state annual budget to promote sports. While emphasizing the importance of financial support, he urged business leaders to collaborate and take responsibility for the establishment of the sports university.
