Urgent Update: UGC NET 2024 Re-exam Dates Out

The UGC NET exams are rescheduled! It's time for pupils to get back up and shine by going into the exam with full confidence. The dates for the 2024 reexamination of the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) have been announced. This pivotal test, which establishes Indian nationals' eligibility for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor positions, is slated to take place online via Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode between August 21 and September 4, 2024 announcement as stated by the National Testing Agency. The CSIR-UGC combined NET examination is scheduled for July 25–27, and the NCET examination is scheduled for July 10; these dates were published in the recently issued examination calendar at exams.nta.ac.in.

UGC NET re-examination now will be administered by CBT mode rather than paper and pen. Last June, it was conducted in pen and paper mode but NTA has chosen to return to the previous approach of administering the test online. A day after the exam on June 18, the UGC NET for Junior Research Fellowship, appointment as Assistant Professor, and admission to PhD programs were canceled due to concerns that the "integrity of the examination might have been compromised."

Subsequently, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan revealed that the previous test had been released on the darknet and was making rounds on the Telegram app. Originally set for June 25–27, the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (UGC-NET) event was rescheduled citing "unavoidable circumstances as well as logistic issues."

Technical issues prevented certain test centers from starting the National Common Entrance Test (NCET) in time, so it was postponed for admission to the four-year Integrated Teacher Education Program. Amid the reported problems in administering these national-level entrance examinations, the National Board of Examination (NBE) has also postponed the NEET PG examination. The board president had previously stated that the revised test date would be revealed by the following week.
