UF Ranks Second in Producing 2024-2025 Fulbright U.S. Scholars

The Fulbright Program, established in 1946, is the U.S. government’s premier international academic exchange initiative. It has enabled over 400,000 students, scholars, teachers, artists, and professionals from diverse backgrounds to study, teach, and conduct research abroad, thereby fostering cross-cultural understanding and addressing global challenges.

The University of Florida (UF) has been honoured by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs for its exceptional global engagement. The university has been recognized as one of the Fulbright Top Producing Institutions for the 2024-2025 academic year. This estimable acknowledgement highlights UF's dedication to supporting its faculty and administrators in pursuing international opportunities through the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program. With an impressive 12 scholars selected, the University of Florida proudly ranks second among U.S. colleges and universities producing the highest number of Fulbright U.S. Scholars for the year.

Fulbright applicants at UF receive support from the UF International Center’s Office for Global Research and Engagement, under the guidance of Claire Anumba, the special projects coordinator. The Fulbright Program, funded by the U.S. Government, also benefits from support provided by participating governments, host institutions, corporations, and foundations worldwide. Fulbright alumni have made significant contributions across various sectors and include 44 heads of state, 62 Nobel Laureates, 90 Pulitzer Prize winners, 82 MacArthur Fellows, and numerous leaders and changemakers who promote mutual understanding between the United States and other nations.
