Indian Students Can Now Earn Prestigious Southampton Degrees Locally with the New Delhi Campus

University of Southampton Launches Delhi Campus, Providing High-Quality Education Closer to Home

The University of Southampton has officially opened admissions for its first cohort at the newly established Delhi campus, offering Indian students the opportunity to study at one of the UK’s distinguished Russell Group universities, ranked among the world’s top 100. This new campus provides students in India the chance to earn a globally recognized degree without leaving the country. Students at the Delhi campus will follow the same curriculum, assessments, and academic standards as those at the UK campus. Degrees awarded by the Delhi campus will hold the same value as those from Southampton’s UK campus, with no distinction made on certificates or transcripts regarding the location of study. This move enables students to access high-quality education while staying in their home country.

The University of Southampton’s inaugural intake for August 2025 will offer a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including BSc degrees in Business Management, Accounting & Finance, Computer Science, and Economics, as well as MSc degrees in International Management and Finance. Current students at the university have shared their experiences, highlighting the institution's strong emphasis on practical learning and its commitment to addressing global challenges. Students praised the university for its focus on hands-on experience, its supportive and diverse campus culture, and its dedication to tackling environmental challenges while fostering an environment where students can thrive both academically and personally.

Professor Andrew Atherton, Vice-President of International and Engagement at the University of Southampton, expressed excitement about the inaugural application round, noting strong interest from high-achieving students for the new Gurugram campus. The campus, which aligns with India’s National Education Policy (NEP), is the first international university to be granted a licence by the Indian government to establish a full-scale campus in the country.

Developed in partnership with the Oxford International Education Group (OIEG), the Delhi campus will offer state-of-the-art facilities and a vibrant student experience. The first application round closes on November 29, with results expected by mid-January 2025. Additionally, the Rs 5,000 application fee is waived for this round, making it more affordable for students to apply. Information about available scholarships and accommodation options will be shared soon, providing further support to help students in their academic journey.
